Poster abstracts will be accepted after May 1 on a space-available basis.


Call for Contributions

Contributions to the meeting are being solicited as lectures and posters. The Scientific Committe will review the submitted abstracts and decide about acceptance and the type of presentation. The conference language and thus the language of the abstracts will be English.
Guidelines for Preparation and Submission of Abstracts
Abstracts may be one page in length including any figures and tables. It is preferred that abstracts are submitted electronically as a Microsoft Word Document (*.doc) or Rich Text File (*.rtf) via Email to Professor Navrotsky's executive assistant at navea@ucdavis.edu. Please name your documents in the format firstname_lastname.doc and include the words "HTMC-13 Conference Abstract" in the subject line when submitting electronically.

The abstract formatting rules are shown below:

page size A4 (297 x 210- mm) or Letter
margins all margins: 25mm / 1 inch
fonts Arial and Symbol only
line spacing the text within a section (e.g. title, body text, etc) should be single spaced; separate each section with a blank line
title format centered, 14 point, bold, all text must use capital letters except chemical formulas, which should be listed in the standard way
author(s) and affiliations centered, 12 point. Underline the presenting author. In the case of multiple affiliations use a superscript letter to match author and affiliation and list each affiliation on a separate line
main text Begins with the word "Abstract:" (in bold); the remaining text must be left and right justified, 11 point, unindented
figures or tables must be good quality and placed within the text area
references 10 point font, reference via a number placed in square brackets (e.g. [1]) and cite references below the main text.


Poster Prizes !

IUPAC Poster Prizes will be awarded at the conference to select poster presenters. Selection of the prizewinners is to be determined by the Conference organizers. Recipients will receive a certificate signed by the IUPAC President, a copy of the Gold Book and a two year subscription to Chemistry International. These materials will be presented at the event.
