Facility: Rate Change Letter, April 2007
Dear Facility Users and
Affiliates,
It has been just over a
year now since the Spectral Imaging Facility began recharging for
hourly use of the Combined Confocal Optical Atomic Force Microscope CCOAFM. The
official recharge rate as approved in March 2006 is $99/hour, but all
users have received a substantial subsidy to offset the impact of the
official rate.
Since the last official
recharge rate was established, SIF has added another general use instrument,
an Hitachi S-800T FE-SEM and Oxford EDS. With
the addition of the SEM it is now possible to split operating costs 2
ways resulting in lower recharge rates for each instrument. The
management team at SIF in cooperation with The Office of Research Management
and Planning have proposed a new rate structure detailed below which
we believe will be approved and become effective 1 June 2007.
