Research Focus:
The study of particulate and volatile emissions from motor vehicle exhaust to determine the chemical entities most responsible for adverse health effects in humans and the mechanism of their toxicity.
Internship or Partner Interaction:
Currently working under the IGERT Fellowship with Dr. Judith Charles and Dr. Kent Pinkerton. Recent work has involved field testing vehicle emissions at the Hagen-Smit Facility in El Monte, CA., under a grant from the California Air Resources Board.
Personal Statement:
An area of personal & professional interest is the accurate dissemination of scientific data and information to governmental regulatory agencies, the media, and the general public. Upon completion of my PhD in Environmental Toxicology, I hope to help bridge the gap between science and public policy on complex environmental issues.
